How to Complete the Required Reading Assignments
• Project Upload and Reading Response forms open on August 1.
• All Projects and Reading Responses are due by August 13 (the first day of school)
You must use the Summer Reading Google Classroom to complete the summer reading assignments. On your iPad, log into the Classroom app with your Paideia School email address. On a computer, go to http://classroom.google.com and login, or choose Classroom from the Apps menu on your Gmail screen.
You may create your projects and write your reading responses at anytime during the summer break, but you can only submit them between August 1 - August 13. Write & save reading responses in a text-editing app; when the Google Forms open, you can the copy & paste your response paragraphs into the form.

1) Read Keeping Pace by Laurie Morrison
Complete two (2) projects on Keeping Pace, chosen from among the many options on the Summer Reading Projects Choice Board (found in the Classwork area of the Summer Reading Google classroom).
2) Read three (3) additional free-choice books. Respond to each free-choice book by logging into the Summer Reading Google classroom with your Paideia School email ID & password. Click the Classwork tab at the top of the page, and choose the assignment for your grade in August.
Of course, you don't have to stop at three. You are welcome (and encouraged) to read as many additional books as you want! You can read fiction, non-fiction, poetry or graphic novels. Books in a series can count, and if you're dying to read a book that's not listed in these pages, go for it! As long as it's is reasonable for your age and reading level (ie, not Magic Tree House or Dogman), you'll be good.
Format doesn't matter. Both print and e-books are fine, and if you like to listen, remember that audiobooks count too. Don't worry about doing a form for all your extra reading, though. Use that time to start another book!
