The Junior High will have an author visit with Laurie Morrison, author of Keeping Pace, on Friday, September 19.
Laurie Morrison has always loved reading and telling stories (including a heroic tale about how she saved her baby brother's life -- totally made up!), but she didn't start writing fiction until she started teaching middle school English. She wrote four novels before getting her first publishing deal! She writes books for students in middle school, and those transitioning from 8th grade into high school -- like the students she teaches.
When she's not reading or writing, you can usually find Laurie spending time outside, cooking or baking, or playing with her young kids. She loves iced coffee, sports, just-out-of-the-oven pastries, and the ocean.
